Shiji Group, a leading global hospitality technology provider, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (GFLA), Broward County's official partnership for economic development, announced the company is contributing to tech-focused job growth in the South Florida region with the addition of 70 new high-value tech jobs.

On Tuesday, February 18th Shiji and GFLA commemorated the announcement during the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Shiji Group's third corporate headquarters in the Americas, located in Hollywood, FL. The ceremony was attended by Commissioner Richard Blattner of Hollywood, FL, President, and CEO of GFLA, Bob Swindell, Shiji America's SVP, Dan Bell, and COO of Shiji Distribution Solutions, Greg Berman, amongst others. The company's growth is supported by the Alliance, the State of Florida and the City of Hollywood.

Founded in 1998, Shiji quickly grew to become a leading global technology provider, empowering the hospitality industry in over 15,000 cities and 177 countries around the world. When Shiji arrived in the Americas in 2016, it quickly became one of the fastest-growing hospitality technology companies in the US, with 57% of all hotels in the United States now utilizing Shiji technology, including 58% of the hotels in Miami, and almost two-thirds of the hotels in Orlando.

South Florida's diverse and highly educated workforce, access to 10 major airports, and competitive tax and regulatory base, make it an ideal location for Shiji's third corporate headquarters in the Americas. The partnership between GFLA and Shiji Group will bring more innovation, high-tech employment, and economic growth to the region. In expanding its local presence, Shiji will offer more support for its US and Florida customers, while simultaneously attracting more local talent in tech.

"The Alliance is thrilled to welcome Shiji to Hollywood and we're glad the company has chosen to add 70 new high-value tech jobs in Broward County," said Bob Swindell, President & CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.

"We take great pride in being a city that is welcoming to innovative businesses by providing resources and opportunities to help them grow and prosper," says Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy. "The fact that our city attracted one of hospitality's leading global technology companies in Shiji, is a true testament to our region as a thriving technology hub."

Dan Bell, SVP of Shiji Group Americas, remarked, "We welcome the opportunity to partner with GFLA to help bring more technological and economic growth to South Florida. Shiji's goal is to connect the global business of hospitality, and our Hollywood office will allow us to bring increased resources, R&D, sales, and customer support to both our local clients and the regional tech and hospitality communities."

"With a thriving hospitality sector and talented hospitality and technology professionals, South Florida represents a unique opportunity for Shiji to be even more innovative and strengthen the level of service and support provided to our customers", said Greg Berman, COO of Shiji Distribution Solutions.
