Newmarket International Introduces MeetingBroker™ with Direct Book Services for “Small Meetings”, at HITEC 2005

LOS ANGELES, CA., Booking a meeting for small groups just became as easy as reserving a hotel sleeping room on line with a credit card, thanks to innovative software by Newmarket International. The company will offer a technology preview of MeetingBroker with Direct Book Services for small meetings, at HITEC 2005 in Los Angeles.

The new, state-of-the-art software will make it possible for hotels and banquet facilities to offer their clients the ability to book small, single-day meetings, online and in real time without the need for direct assistance from sales and catering staff. “With just a few clicks of a mouse”, stated President and CEO Sean O’Neill, “customers will be able to book a meeting room, catering - even AV equipment - effortlessly, and feel confident that their needs will be taken care of, leaving sales staff free to attend to larger, more complex business”.

Meeting Broker with Direct Book Services is powered in conjunction with Delphi™, the industry standard for group, sales, catering and banquet systems. Direct Book Services for small meetings is in the marketplace now in customized implementations such as Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. Before year end, other chains will introduce similar Newmarket International enabled solutions, and the capability will then become available to MeetingBroker subscribers. MeetingBroker helps properties to better manage and close leads through a suite of tools to help sales departments assign, respond to, and analyze their leads.

A version of Direct Book Services was engineered for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., and is integrated into their Meetings in a Moment for small meetings. Meetings in a Moment is currently available at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel and the Sheraton Boston as well as over 20 other hotels in the Boston, Florida, and Atlanta regions.
