Whitbread Hotel Company Increases Newmarket International's Hospitality Sales And Catering Technology Solutions Throughout 61 Of Their Premier Properties
Whitbread installs Newmarket International's suite of award winning products and services to improve efficiencies across Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard and Travel Inn hotels
2 December 2001

London, England - December 3, 2001- Newmarket International announced today that the UK-based Whitbread Hotel Company is implementing a suite of Newmarket International's products and services in 61 of their key hotels. The agreement was reached as a result of the successful pilot installation earlier this year of NetDelphi Enterprise in seven of Whitbread's properties.

The result of this portfolio of products and services agreement will involve the full integration between NetDelphi Enterprise and the Fidelio Property Management System in 60 hotels, as well as the replacement of Fidelio's Sales and Catering system with the Newmarket International solution in over 20 of Whitbread's properties.

Details of this phase of the implementation include the following Newmarket International products and services installed centrally across all 61 properties supporting over 500 total users:

"Following the tragic events of 11th September, our industry is experiencing difficult trading conditions," stated Alan Parker, Managing Director with Whitbread. "Whitbread is determined to emerge from this downturn stronger than before. One of our key strategies for achieving this is to invest in technologies that put us ahead of the competition. Newmarket's NetDelphi products were chosen to leverage the productivity of our sales and conference teams," continued Parker.

" The initial pilot with Newmarket International, launched in March of 2001, has been a tremendous success," stated Steve Lambert, Finance and IT Director with Whitbread. "Our goal at the outset of this project was to work with a company that had a proven track record of centralised product deployment, the ability to integrate with and enhance our current technological applications, and the resources to support and ensure success," continued Lambert. " Newmarket International continues to exceed expectations across the board. The decision to further invest in their technology was based on the immediate business benefits and efficiencies the pilot properties have received. By growing the central sales, conference and banqueting solution to 61 properties, we will enhance communication and booking conversions across our estate."

A key element in moving forward with the project was Whitbread's need for a tangible return on investment by leveraging the Internet as a marketing and booking channel. " One of the critical components of the Newmarket solution is NetXchange Meeting Broker," continued Lambert. "With NetXchange, Whitbread's customers will be able to communicate directly with our sales force through the Internet to book conferences online in a matter of seconds. This will prove to be a further competitive advantage for our group."

"We are extremely pleased with Whitbread's decision to grow our partnership," commented Dan Hiza, Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa with Newmarket International. " This agreement highlights the fact that our products and services are the selection of choice for companies that are looking for an immediate return on investment. We look forward to delivering continued success to Whitbread and their major properties."
