Hampton Conventions & Tourism selects Newmarket International's NetMetro Bureaus for their destination's business solution
30 July 2001

Portsmouth, NH-July 30, 2001 - Newmarket International announced today that the Hampton Conventions & Tourism in Virginia has selected Newmarket's NetMetro Bureaus destination solution to automate their sales and service operations.

Hampton Conventions & Tourism selected NetMetro Bureaus for its complete functionality, ease of use, data conversion capabilities, and scalability. Hampton plans to add a new convention center within the next two years and NetMetro Bureaus will enable them to book future business for that center, today. Having a system in place for when the new center is built will allow the center to start operating immediately after construction.

NetMetro Bureaus is designed to help generate leads to area industry partners, market the destination, and analyze demographics through flexible reporting options. The application not only unifies all the departments within a bureau but also provides each city the benefits of connecting to a true business-to-business environment utilizing Newmarket's NetMarketplace. Leads created in NetMetro Bureaus are seamlessly transferred over the Internet using the NetXchange Meeting Broker web service and arrive to members electronically within seconds.

"Hampton Conventions & Tourism is looking forward to implementing Newmarket International's NetMetro Bureaus product. After extensive research of CVB and general sales tracking systems products, we found that NetMetro Bureaus met our needs and specifications," stated Sallye Grant-DiVenuti, Interim Director for Hampton Conventions & Tourism.

"NetMetro Bureaus gives us the tools we need to improve our business tracking and reporting and has the capacity to handle future growth and expansion."

Newmarket's products also support the future direction of the Hampton Conventions & Tourism as they plan to join the e-City network, which is supported by both NetMetro Bureaus and Newmarket's NetXchange Meeting Broker. The e-City network is the first Internet-based, real-time conduit for hotels, CVBs, and other destination and hospitality industry entities to share information, sales leads and Request-for-Proposals (RFPs) for volume business. By leveraging the capabilities of the Internet, the e-City network quickly will enhance the revenue potential for hospitality venues and empower convention & visitors bureaus to drive business to their regions more efficiently. e-Cities are populated via Newmarket's Meeting Broker service. Comprised of convention & visitors bureaus, hotels, event facilities and other hospitality venues, the e-City will utilize Newmarket's web-based infrastructure to link with one another so that sales leads and RFPs that arrive at the CVB can be processed and booked faster and easier. Through sophisticated sorting capabilities, qualified properties will quickly receive lead information.

"With the construction of our new 320,000 square foot convention center, Newmarket's convention center management component was an added benefit. With this growth we will need more sophisticated tracking and reporting technology. We feel that NetMetro Bureaus will provide our staff the necessary tools to enhance their ability to deliver better service to our clients and their attendees." Grant-DiVenuti continued, "Newmarket's sales people have been exceptional to work with. They have been available throughout the procurement process to answer questions and offer suggestions along the way. I look forward to a long and productive relationship with them."

"Today many convention centers and visitors bureaus employ NetMetro Bureaus and have experienced increased efficiencies and higher productivity within their organization," stated Newmarket International's President and CEO, Sean O'Neill. "Also, the ability to become an e-City is attractive to many of the centers and bureaus around the country who wish to extend an electronic business-to business exchange to properties and contacts within their region."
