Newmarket International announces Sean O'Neill as President and CEO

Newmarket International today announced that Sean O'Neill is assuming the position of President and CEO effectively immediately. The announcement was made by Steve Giblin, former President and CEO. "I am very excited to make this historic announcement. Sean's technology expertise and business background provides Newmarket with the leadership and vision to chart the course for the global hospitality marketplace," said Giblin, who will remain with Newmarket as Director of the Company on Newmarket's board. "We recruited Sean to Newmarket because of his unique combination of hotel industry experience and strong technical background. As a former Chief Information Officer of a $6 plus billion dollar company, Sean has the ability to develop our technical vision and position Newmarket as the company of choice for business solutions within the industry."
O'Neill was most recently President and Chief Operating Officer of Grand Circle Corporation, a company with over 43 years of leadership in International travel and discovery, with revenues in excess of $450 million. Prior to that, O'Neill was Chief Information Systems Officer and Senior Vice President of IIT Sheraton Corporation in Boston, MA. During his tenure at Sheraton, O'Neill was responsible for all global and distributed systems, and drove strategic information planning for the entire Sheraton system development, implementation and support services.
