MINNEAPOLIS / April 16, 2001--The Movenpick Hotel Stuttgart-Airport and the Movenpick Hotel Nurnberg-Airport installed and are operating the IDeaS revenue management solution, known in the hospitality industry as e-yield(TM).
The implementation follows a successful pilot program conducted by IDeaS and Movenpick Hotels & Resorts to test and prove the e-yield(TM) Revenue Management Solution's ability to deliver benefits and optimize revenue for the chain. They are two of 6 initial Movenpick properties that have been scheduled for e-yield(TM) installation in a time span of a few weeks. Munich-Airport (Hallbergmoos), Essen, Muenster, Frankfurt/Oberursel have been the first properties in the roll-out schedule and are already live with the system. The Movenpick Hotel Munich Airport in Hallbergmoos was a pilot project for the group. The average rate rose from last year's rate from DM 137 to DM 166. In the opinion of Albert Wechsel, the General Manager at the hotel, that was made possible because of the yield system. "And that is taking place, even though our occupancy slipped from 78.55% to 77.30%," revealed the Director enthusiastically. The Movenpick Hotel Stuttgart-Airport features 229 modern rooms, a restaurant with conservatory, a terrace, lounge, bar, and nine banquet/conference rooms for up to 150 persons and is located at the Stuttgart airport, 20 minutes from the city centre. The Movenpick Hotel Nurnberg-Airport has 150 comfortable rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a leisure and recreation centre and 12 banquets/conference rooms for up to 200 people.
