MINNEAPOLIS / Jan. 10, 2001--IDeaS, Inc., a leading provider of revenue management solutions, announced that Petra Stengele joined the company as director of Product Management and Marlene Walsten has joined as director of Delivery Services.
Petra Stengele comes to IDeaS with 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Her background combines hotel operations and IT knowledge. As director of Product Management, Stengele will focus on next generation product development and integrations with leading vendors who deliver property management systems (PMS) and central reservation systems (CRS). Stengele's scheduled product technology developments include enhanced group management capabilities and the industry's first contract evaluation solution. Stengele previously worked at Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts and Bass Hotels & Resorts as director, Hotel Systems Planning. During her tenure, she held a number of management positions in leading hotels as well as the chains' corporate IT offices in Connecticut and Georgia. Fluent in English, German and French, Stengele has extensive international background and operational expertise in the hospitality technology industry - both of which will serve to enhance IDeaS' solutions portfolio. As director of Delivery Services, Walsten will lead IDeaS' customer support organization. Walsten brings 25 years experience in revenue reporting, technology software and client services. Most recently, Walsten served as vice president of Professional Services for JobBOSS Software in Minneapolis. At JobBOSS, Walsten worked with a team of professionals to develop company vision and overall business plan, bringing JobBOSS to an industry-leading position with approximately 30 percent of new sales resulting from referrals. Walsten hired and trained the consultant staff that resulted in growing the consultancy practice from $350,000 annually to approximately $4 million in 18 months. She also played a key role in JobBOSS being named "Employer of the Year" by the Minnesota Software Association. Previous to JobBOSS, Walsten served as corporate treasurer for Q Petroleum Corporation, where she was responsible for financial reporting and implementing training programs for convenience food store employees. IDeaS is the only company with full-service client management, including dedicated project managers, client managers, project coordinators, and hospitality-industry trainers for every client's successful implementation.
