Bass Hotels & Resorts Americas Division to Standardize on Newmarket's Delphi Multi-Property Edition
17 May 2000

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Newmarket's thin-client solution engineered for property cross-selling installed at three key Bass Hotels & Resorts clusters in Houston, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Newmarket International today announced that Bass Hotels & Resorts has created three hotels clusters in its Americas Division using Delphi Multi-Property Edition(TM) (Delphi MPE), Newmarket's thin-client sales automation application designed for multiple hotels cross selling within one system, such as a cluster of hotels or a regional sales office.

Bass Hotels & Resorts, whose Americas Division include the Inter-Continental and Crowne Plaza hotel brands, has created clusters in Houston for the Crowne Plaza - Near the Houston Galleria and the Inter-Continental Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Austin. In Los Angeles, for the Crowne Plaza Los Angeles International Airport and the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach & Marina. In New York for the Hotel Inter-Continental New York, the Inter-Continental Central Park South and the Crowne Plaza at the United Nations.

"Our decision to move to Delphi MPE was based on Newmarket having a proven Windows product on which we could standardize and fully integrate our e-commerce sales strategy," said Peter Babbini, Vice President, Sales Development, Bass Hotels & Resorts - The Americas. "We were further impressed with the projected ROI levels, and with Newmarket's ability to manage and support such a mission-critical rollout."

Delphi MPE is powered by a Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database and provides real-time, direct-book capability to any guest- or function room in a region or cluster of hotels-regardless of size-from a single database.

Launched in November 1999, Delphi MPE is among the first products to integrate with , Newmarket's new Internet service that routes electronic Requests For Proposals (e-RFP) from member sites that include: AllMeetings.com, BusinessMeetings.com, HotDatesHotRates, Meetings & Travel Online, PlanIt Online, and RFPExpress.

The power of is that it enables hotels to immediately evaluate and accept business from Web-based sales leads, merge a proposal and email it back to the meeting planner in minutes, saving hours or days of delay. In addition, retains sales leads for future opportunities.
