PORTSMOUTH, N.H -- Newmarket International, Inc. announced today that MeriStar Hotels & Resorts, a leading franchiser of Sheraton, Westin, Hilton, and Radisson hotels, has begun a major upgrade and consolidation of its national sales infrastructure by standardizing its operations on Newmarket's Delphi Multi-Property Edition(TM) (Delphi MPE).
Delphi MPE is a sales and catering application that automates the operations of multiple hotels in a single system, enabling MeriStar to leverage the efforts of a single sales person across multiple hotels. The application is the foundation of MeriStar's collective approach to automation, which is based on the newly created Delphi MPE sales regions that will work in concert for enterprise-wide cross-selling. MeriStar has created multiple regional hotel clusters connecting a total of 72 individual properties in 2000. MeriStar has national salespeople connected to all of the Delphi MPE servers, enabling them to sell a conference or meeting online through the network of properties. "MeriStar needed the most advanced technologies, and a seasoned team that could make our technological vision a reality," said Hoyt Bacon, MeriStar's Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "The connections between Newmarket's core sales and catering and e-commerce solutions ensure the elimination of impediments between our sales team and growing profit." The MeriStar Delphi MPE installations bring together hotels formerly using manual systems, as well as sites running Breeze, DOS Delphi, Delphi, and others using competitor's products. Delphi MPE was launched in November 1999 and is among the first products that integrates with MeriStar Hotels & Resorts operates 233 hospitality and leisure properties with more than 46,000 rooms and 10 golf courses in 34 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
