Newmarket International Shows Customers the Future of Hospitality Sales Technology at First Annual Delphi User's Conference
Newmarket users participated in educational seminars and interactive labs on e-commerce, data warehousing, the Virtual Classroom, and MeetingBroker.com, Newmarket's B2B hub for hospitality sales

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Over 300 customers and technology partners of Newmarket International, Inc. met last month the first annual Delphi User's Conference at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. The conference took its name from Newmarket's core property-level sales and catering program, but attendees' which included users of Breeze and Delphi Multi-Property Edition' participated in a wide variety of educational seminars, presentations, and hands-on training on Newmarket?s Web-enabled applications and services. Seminar topics included data warehousing, Web-based training and technical support, and Newmarket's business-to-business e-commerce solutions.

The conference featured in-depth sessions on product usage, migrations, and reporting, and gave users a chance to network, collaborate on technology issues, and provide Newmarket with feedback for future product development.

"We initiated the conference to give our worldwide customers the opportunity to learn specific features of our existing technologies, and to provide them with our e-commerce vision and an efficient path to integrating the Web into their sales strategies" said Newmarket President Steve Giblin.

Giblin introduced , a Web-based service that routes leads from electronic request for proposal (e-RFP) sites directly into Newmarket?s sales automation systems for immediate and efficient lead processing and response. He outlined how is the first step in creating technology that will eventually enable any sales or service personnel in any to book business to satisfy customer needs from in the world.

Conference keynote speaker Doug Fox, a meeting industry analyst and publisher of the online newsletter EventWeb, amplified Giblin's message with a presentation on how the Web is transforming the way hotels do business, and the role that products such as will play in shaping the flow of business-to-business e-commerce.

For many attendees, participating in discussions with Newmarket on future product developments, and networking with other Delphi users was very beneficial.

"The interaction between other users and Newmarket personnel was invaluable," said Rodd Herron, Vice President of Sales Development Wyndham International. "We thought the conference a great success and look forward to attending in the future."

The breakout sessions on the specific functionality of Breeze and Delphi - including Market Vision, reporting, and database mining - was especially helpful.

"This conference renewed my interest in the technology side of my job, and reminded me of the fabulous tool we have in Delphi," said Brim, Conference Planning Manager at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.
