ATLANTA -- Newmarket International, Inc. announced today that Universal Studios Escape in Orlando, Florida has begun installation of Delphi Multi-Property Edition (Delphi MPE), Newmarket's Windows-based, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0-powered application engineered for the simultaneous selling of multiple properties or venues by one sales force. Newmarket made the announcement while introducing the program to hospitality professionals attending HITEC, the industry's premier technology tradeshow.
Universal Studios will use Delphi MPE to automate sales and catering functions at three hotels currently under construction, and to track and manage bookings at its two theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, as well as its CityWalk entertainment complex. Delphi MPE is a powerful, easy-to-use program that provides up-to-the-second availability and full property detail for all hotels seeking to unify sales efforts, such as a cluster or properties served by a Regional Sales Office. The program gives each salesperson deal-closing specifics on guest and function room availability, ensuring more business is booked the first time a customer calls. The three hotels to be automated are the Portofino Bay Hotel (opening in September 1999), the Hard Rock Hotel (to open in early 2000), and the Royal Pacific (set to open in 2001). All are on-site Loews Hotels located at the Universal Studios Escape theme park vacation destination resort.
