Newmarket International, Inc. and Hilton Hotels Corporation (Hilton) announced today that Hilton recently went live with Global SFA 7.1.2, Newmarket's MS SQL Server powered program. This Windows-based solution automatically allows regional and worldwide sales offices to share and disseminate account information and leads from a centralized data center.
Hilton--which in 1997 specified Newmarket's Windows-based Breeze and Delphi products as its primary sales and catering solution for individual properties--has used Global SFA to expand the reach of its automation infrastructure to the enterprise level. A data center, located in California, disseminates leads to national sales offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC. These offices can be linked further to Hilton's 130 individual properties running Newmarket solutions, creating a sales system accessible across the corporation. Efficient project teams from both Newmarket International and Hilton management reduced the implementation timeline from eight months to five. Newmarket converted Hilton's voluminous customer data from its proprietary Answer*Net(tm) system, conducted rigorous quality assurance testing that reduced Hilton's second data viewing to a single day via a dial-in, and co-created custom courses to train Hilton's global sales team. Hilton went live in late April three weeks ahead of schedule with approximately 120 concurrent users accessing the Global SFA database. "We're delighted about the aggressive implementation of Newmarket's enterprise solution to our worldwide sales offices," said Steve Armitage, vice president and managing director - sales for Hilton Hotels Corporation. "We expect that the Global SFA product will bring immediate productivity to Hilton team members and, at the same time, provide added value to our customer relationships." Hilton's goal, according to Armitage, is to upgrade to Newmarket's Global SFA 7.2, as soon as the product is fully tested and released later this year. Global SFA 7.2 employs D/COM architecture and features advanced replication and data warehousing capabilities along with remote Internet access. About Newmarket International, Inc.
