Opryland Hotel Goes Live With Newmarket International's Delphi For Windows, 7.1.2a
Sales, Marketing, Catering, and Convention Services automation solution scaled to meet the needs of world's largest combined hotel-convention center

The Opryland Hotel in Nashville switched on Delphi for Windows, 7.1.2a last month, uniting 200 concurrent users on a single program that automates all phases of group sales, catering, and convention services business. The moment when 200 salespeople could simultaneously access account, lead, and booking information for the 2884-guest room property marked the successful completion of an ambitious automation initiative that included scalability testing, data conversion, custom training development, and an integrated use of enterprise project management at both Opryland and Newmarket.

"As the world's largest combined hotel and convention center, we needed a powerful enough automation system that would not only help us manage our data, but allow us to use it more effectively to enhance customer service, decrease costs, improve overall communications amongst the staff as well as increase profits," said John Eslick, Project Manager & Director of Strategic Systems Development at Opryland. "We are now confident that Delphi for Windows provides that total solution for us."

"There were challenges all the way, but we rose above each one to prove that Delphi can be scaled to a 300-user environment," said Newmarket Enterprise Project Manager Robyn Mussler, responsible for the Opryland implementation.

In late June, Opryland goes live with Delphi's event management functionality, including Power BEO, Newmarket's automated module for banquet event orders, the Janus Event Board and Meeting Matrix interfaces. At that time, total users accessing the single MS-SQL Server database jumps to 300, Mussler said.
