IHG Strengthens UK Presence with Four Hotel Agreements across Garner and voco Brands
IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the signings and openings of four properties with Fairview Hotels across the UK, including voco London – Bloomsbury, Garner Hotel Lincoln, Garner Hotel Rotherham East and Garner Hotel Chesterfield North. The latest properties add over 380 rooms to IHG’s UK&I pipeline, strengthening its footprint in its largest market in Europe. This growth builds on IHG’s leading position across essentials and premium segments as well as its success in launching and growing conversion brands, such as voco and Garner. Both of which have rapidly become popular with owners looking for a brand that delivers strong returns and performance. Since launching in 2018, voco has quickly become the fastest growing brand within IHG’s premium segment, having celebrated the milestone of 100 open hotels globally in 2025. Building on this success, voco London – Bloomsbury joins 21* open and 5* pipeline voco properties across the UK and Ireland, including voco Letchworth Hall, voco The Club – Dublin Gateway, and voco Rockingham Forest Corby – all of which opened in H2 2025. voco London – Bloomsbury is located on Southampton Row, close to two existing IHG properties - Kimpton Fitzroy London and Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury - complementing IHG’s footprint in this historic London hotspot. The 114-room hotel occupies a charming Victorian façade and will offer guests the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere they can expect from a voco hotel. The property is expected to be fully rebranded and will open under the voco brand in mid-2026, remaining open to guests in the meantime. Further adding to IHG’s growth, three new Garner properties with Fairview Hotels will bolster the midscale conversion brand’s growing presence of 5* open and 7* pipeline Garner properties across the UK, including Garner Hotel Edinburgh – Haymarket, Garner Hotel Nottingham City Centre and Garner Hotel London Victoria. Garner Hotels strives to become the leading choice for travelers of all ages seeking quality stays at an affordable price point – offering the all-important things guests value, including convenient locations, comfortable beds and free Wi-Fi. Guests will experience Garner’s signature ‘refreshing moment’ free drink and snack on arrival, as well as having access to fresh bean-to-cup coffee and the Garner Shop. The recent signings include: Garner Hotel Rotherham East: Recently opened in January 2025, the 91-room hotel enhances the Garner offering in South Yorkshire. Located in Bramley, the hotel is close to Junction 1 of the M18 – a major route providing strong connectivity to Rotherham, Sheffield, York, and Nottingham. Rotherham is well connected to the Peak District National Park, has a popular football club and is within a 15-minute drive of Meadowhall, one of the UK’s largest shopping malls. Garner Hotel Lincoln: Set to open in February 2026, the 91-room Garner Hotel Lincoln is situated in North Hykeham, southwest of Lincoln, offering excellent access to the A46 and just 13 minutes from Lincoln Central Station. The hotel is located within a mixed-use area, surrounded by retail outlets, leisure amenities, and industrial estates, with Lincoln’s attractions – such as Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle – easily accessible. Garner Hotel Chesterfield North: Also opening in February 2026, the 91-room Garner Hotel Chesterfield North is in Balborough, Derbyshire, close to Junction 30 of the M1 offering connectivity to Sheffield, Chesterfield. North Leeds and South Birmingham. Balborough is an important hub for employment and business travel and benefits from nearby leisure attractions including Balborough Links Golf Club, Bolsover Castle and Sherwood Forest, making it a well-rounded location for both business and leisure travellers.
