HTNG's Business Analytics Transactional Extract (BATE) Workgroup developed the first specification in their roadmap to benefit the hospitality industry. Until now, there were many methods for extracting aggregated transactional data, but no standards to extract raw, detailed transactional data from many hospitality business systems to perform business analytics. Led by Co-chairs Marshall Knauf, product manager, Cloudbeds and Iris Steinmetz, vice president of product and partnerships, SnapShot GmbH, this group developed a BATE specification creating data extraction standards for financial transaction, reservation data and group blocks to solve this problem. DOWNLOAD THE BATE SPECIFICATION Additionally, the BATE Workgroup recently rechartered to develop a standard Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) target for Point of Sale (POS) systems both front of house and back of house to help create consistent extracts across the industry.
