HTNG Strategic Leadership Engagement Series to Address Several Hotel Industry Technology Challenges
Hotel industry technology leaders will convene with leading-edge technology companies to share insight on pressing hotel industry technology challenges and feedback on potential solutions
1 November 2013

CHICAGO – November 1, 2013 | Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), the membership association that unites the world's hospitality companies and technology innovators to solve industry challenges, today announced that it had established a new Senior Leadership Engagement Series. Through this program, senior IT leaders from the global hotel industry drawn from HTNG's Board of Governors will engage with leading-edge technology providers on major hotel industry technology issues and challenges. Initial engagement will be on topics including cloud integration and migration, big data analytics, data security and satisfying Internet-bandwidth demands.

The goal of HTNG's Strategic Leadership Engagement Series is to create a greater level of shared strategic thinking between hotels and the companies they depend on to design and provide the technologies that drive hotel operations, guest experience and guest satisfaction.

"HTNG has had great success in bringing together hoteliers and technology providers to accelerate the pace of innovation, to lower the risks of technology investment and to support the mutual success of the hotel and technology provider," said Douglas Rice, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of HTNG. "The Strategic Leadership Engagement Series is an important expansion of HTNG's role, leveraging key HTNG assets to deepen the senior-level dialog around the business needs of the hotel industry and the range of technology options to satisfy them. Close coordination with HTNG's technology provider members has confirmed their strong interest in this deeper dialog."

HTNG Strategic Leadership Engagement Series meetings are face-to-face, last three hours, and are organized around specific pressing hotel industry technology needs and issues. Providing the strategic insights of hotel industry technology leadership will be several CIO, CTO and similar senior-level executives, from among HTNG's 18-member Board of Governors. Technology companies can participate by sponsoring meetings on subjects of interest to them. For each meeting, each of up to three sponsoring technology companies will have the opportunity to give a 30 minute presentation, followed by a 75-minute moderated discussion with the panel of hotel industry technology leaders. Each session will be videotaped and made available via streaming media to other industry participants by HTNG. HTNG plans to run sessions on approximately six topics each calendar year.

More information on the program can be found at http://htng.org/strategic-leadership-series. Senior-level technology executives at hotel companies who are interested in participating, as well as technology providers interested in sponsoring, should contact membership@htng.org.
