Puma Hotels’ Collection offers 21 four star hotels across the UK. The hotels are all in inspiring locations from vibrant city and town centres, spectacular coastal resorts to countryside retreats. The relationship between Puma Hotels and Xn dates back to 2002, when the group (then the Paramount Group of Hotels) installed the dotPOS Enterprise Point of Sale System. In 2003, protel was selected as its preferred PMS and implemented in a centralised, multi-property environment. 2007 saw the rollout of Xn globalRES to provide seamless connectivity and rate parity to GDS, IDS and Puma Hotels’ own web site. In June 2013, Puma Hotels completed a major upgrade of Xn’s dotPOS system across its 21 properties. The project included a significant hardware refresh, a comprehensive rebuild of POS data, a software update and group-wide training of new features and processes. A new interface to the group’s stock and procurement system was also developed and deployed. “With hotels dispersed across England, Scotland and Wales, it is very important that we have full visibility and real time financial control of our operation at the HQ level”, stated Carole Taylor Group Financial Controller “The interface between dotPOS and our stock and procurement system is an essential step in that direction. We also decided to invest in a hardware and data refresh to provide our F&B teams with optimum performance, which ultimately results in enhanced customer service”.
