CHICAGO -- What do hotel technology's leaders think was the most innovative technology to be introduced to hotels in 2011? Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), the trade association chartered to advance the application of hotel technology, will soon close entries for a competition which will reveal the answer to this question. The entry deadline for the 3rd year of this industry award is Friday, February 24, 2012. HTNG will announce the winners of the Most Innovative Hospitality Technology award for 2011 at its eighth North American Conference on April 4, 2012. The judges in the competition are the people who select, buy, and deploy technologies in hotels around the world. HTNG's hotel members, which include top technologists from all of the world's top 10 hotel brand as well as from smaller groups and independent hotels, will review all entrants on special display boards at the conference (or online) and will vote for their choices. This year's winner will join last year's champion, ICE on iPads from Intelity, and the 2009 Winner , REX Room Expeditor from MTech, in an elite group of technologies recognized by hotels as exemplifying the leading edge of innovation. Past runners up include MobileAccessVE from Corning MobileAccess; Allegro Mobile-Web-Kiosk Check-in/Out Solution from Ariane Systems, and the original ICE product from Intelity. The award ceremony will occur on the second day of HTNG's conference, which promises to be a powerful event for all attendees.
