Historic Hotels of America Launches Mobile Website
Developed by Sabre Hospitality Solutions, new site puts information at consumers' fingertips
24 October 2011

WASHINGTON, DC – Oct. 24, 2011 - Historic Hotels of America® announced the ability to quickly locate a hotel, learn more about the organization, "like" on Facebook, or check out current "Hot Deals" hotel packages listed by category through any mobile device. The new mobile site can be accessed on any web-enabled mobile phone, automatically redirected from Historic Hotels of America's homepage at www.historichotels.org.

"Historic Hotels of America gives travelers many ways to search through over 2,400 packages, special offers and hot deals from our historic hotels," said Lawrence Horwitz, Executive Director, Historic Hotels Worldwide. "Our website visitors want information instantly. Our mobile web site is just one more way we can ensure they have the ability to search for historic experiences, special savings and connect with our customer service representatives to help book their next Historic Hotels of America getaway."

The new mobile-friendly version of the website, developed by the award-winning design and development team at Sabre Hospitality Solutions, was created with speed and performance in mind. The site provides a rich user experience that mimics many of the functions of the full website for mobile users. The mobile user can easily book a stay at any member of Historic Hotels of America through its call center and will soon be able to book reservations right on their SMART phone when the mobile booking engine is launched later this year.

"We are excited to be working with a group like Historic Hotels of America who has a clear vision about their marketing message and takes advantage of new technology to ensure that message gets out to all travelers," commented Paolo Torchio, vice president of E-marketing and revenue consulting for Sabre Hospitality Solutions. "This mobile site is a great example of brand consistency across all channels."

The new mobile website includes historic hotel members ranging from small historic inns to city-center icons, and from converted factories to grand dame hotels and resorts. The site enables visitors to navigate through America's rich history in order to find their next heritage travel experience and choose from more than 2,000 packages, historic experiences, and special offers at participating historic hotels across the country.

Launched in May, www.historichotels.org connects Historic Hotels of America's unique collection of more than 235 historic hotels with locations, events and places in history. With an enhanced search criteria console, a dynamic map-based hotel finder, and an interactive timeline that mixes historic events, famous people, inventions, and economic milestones with member hotel openings, www.historichotels.org proves to be as much of an interactive history guide as it is a hotel booking site.

While perusing through experiences and historic hotels on www.historichotels.org, guests will learn about the membership that saves 10 percent off best available rates at participating historic hotels and gives discounted admission to over 600 historic places. Guests who book on www.historichotels.org through December 30, 2011, will receive a one-year family membership to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Some of the benefits include: 10 percent discount on best available rates at participating Historic Hotels of America, discounted admission to over 600 historic places worldwide, subscription to Preservation magazine, and advance notice of special offers, historic experiences, and hotel packages.*
