VingCard, a leading hospitality security provider and part of the ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Group, completed the installation of its standalone electronic locking solution, Classic by VingCard, at the Houjie International Hotel in Dongguan, China. Centrally located in the business district, the four-star property features the highest revolving restaurant in the Dongguan area; the Houjie International Hotel is scheduled to open in late October 2009.
“Our property is located in the heart of one of the most active economies in China,” said Mr. Zhenbiao Luo, executive auditor at the Houjie International Hotel. “The location is ideal for business travelers, but comes with extensive traffic in the area, requiring the highest security available today. The Classic Lock by VingCard allowed us to meet the unique security needs of our property while satisfying the demands of our guests.” With over 15 years of proven performance in properties worldwide, Classic by VingCard employs cutting-edge technology to offer a unique design for user-friendly guest interaction. The standalone electronic lock is controlled by software existing in the individual lock and activated by cards coded in the issuing computer. Since the cylinder is recoded from the outside of the lock, the key cards can be recoded without disturbing guests at the property. Built with a full mortise ANS or EURO lock case, with a security latch and strong deadbolt, the Classic lock has been tested through more than 1.2 million openings without visible signs of wear and tear. The system utilizes a high-quality brass escutcheon reinforced by a steel plate and solid brass handles to provide added security. The system also uses a unique life safety cylinder, a recodable emergency overdrive, and a “panic release” deadbolt activated by a single action of the inner handle, providing unsurpassed security to hotels according to Tommy Leung, Managing Director ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Greater China. “With proven performance in hotel properties worldwide, the Classic lock remains as one of our top-selling security systems globally,” said Leung. “The easy-to-use features combined with self-lubricating, long life bearings provide the property with a secure, long-term locking solution they can count on.” “The Houjie International Hotel has installed a locking solution that will continue to adapt based on constantly changing technology as well as the changing needs of their property,” said Leung. “If the hotel chooses RFID technology in the future, in just a few simple steps, the property can be up and running on Classic RFID. This will allow them to enjoy the benefits of upgrading to RFID technology without any downtime or unnecessary cost.” Classic RFID is a secure open-platform system compatible with the three leading RFID ISO standards (ISO 14443A/MiFare, ISO 14443B, ISO 15693) and also the Near Field Communication (NFC) transaction platform for cell phones, therefore eliminating the guesswork for hoteliers in choosing the right technology standard. Part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, VingCard is the world leader in developing locking systems for the hospitality industry, offering user-friendly security systems that meet the unique operational needs of hotels and resorts.
