Protel and dotPOS implemented by Xn Hotel Systems at the Athenaeum, one of London’s finest family owned hotels

The 156 bedroom, 5 star Athenaeum Hotel & Apartments on London's Piccadilly overlooks Green Park and is surrounded by all the excitement of Central London. The hotel is one of a small group of luxury hotels operated by Ralph Trustees Limited, including The Runnymede Hotel & Spa in Surrey and The Grove, Hertfordshire. The hotel is approaching completion of a multi-million pound renovation of the suites and bedrooms but before you even step foot inside The Athenaeum, you can see the hotel has changed. A magical vertical garden has been installed 8 storeys high, towering over Piccadilly!

As part of a comprehensive new revenue strategy for 2009, the hotel’s management team was tasked with selecting a new PMS to take full advantage of the investment in the IDeaS Revenue Management System (RMS). After an extensive selection process involving each Head of Department and several reference checks, Xn Hotel Systems and protel PMS were selected. The hotel also ordered Xn’s dotPOS Enterprise Point of Sale solution.

The implementation delivered a seamlessly integrated technology platform and included comprehensive migration of data from the hotel’s legacy PMS, customised reporting and a host of additional interfaces. “Protel came highly recommended, with an impressive client list in London and beyond”, stated Christopher Andrews, Group Finance Director of Ralph Trustees Limited. “Xn Hotel Systems gave us the best overall solution and we have been impressed by their ongoing commitment to this project”.
