Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem Selects Solution Portfolio from Agilysys
New Resort Implements Property Management, Procurement, POS & Imaging Solutions26 February 2009

CLEVELAND -- Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative IT solutions, including specifically-designed hospitality software solutions, has announced that Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Bethlehem, Pa. has selected a comprehensive solution suite to streamline efficiency and control costs at the property, which is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2009. Sands Bethlehem is a subsidiary of Las Vegas Sands Corp., a leading international developer of multi-use integrated resorts.
Sands Bethlehem wanted a single vendor to provide software systems that addressed all facets of hotel and casino operations. It also wanted solutions that were dependable, user-friendly and easy to integrate with other applications, such as player tracking and financial management. The Agilysys portfolio met those criteria, with software that automates property management, point-of-sale, inventory and procurement and document management.
Sands Bethlehem will implement the following solutions by Agilysys:

Lodging Management System® (LMS), a comprehensive property management solution that automates every aspect of a hotel’s operations. Sands Bethlehem will use the LMS accounts receivable module to handle credit card billings, conference and tour groups, departing guests and ledger accounts; the LMS CASH® module to provide instant online credit card approval combined with express check-in; and the LMS ResNet™ module to enable online shoppers to check room rates and availability and book reservations directly into the LMS property management system.

InfoGenesis POS™, an enterprise-ready point-of-sale system that combines powerful reporting and configuration capabilities with a touch-screen terminal application. The system’s centralized database pulls together food and beverage functions, enabling total management of dining, bar and room service operations.

Stratton Warren System (SWS), a full-featured inventory and procurement solution that will allow Sands Bethlehem to obtain the best prices for goods and services and maximize purchasing power. The property will use the SWS Bar Coding module for wireless data collection of inventory; and the SWS Purchasing module to ensure accuracy in ordering.

DataMagine™, a comprehensive document management solution that will enable Sands Bethlehem to streamline recordkeeping and archive business-critical data. The property will use the DataMagine report archive module to automatically capture, index and electronically file application-generated general business form documents and reports; and the DataMagine signature capture module to digitally capture signatures and apply them to a variety of documents, such as bills of lading, sales receipts and hotel registration cards.

When completed, Sands Bethlehem will feature 5,000 slot machines, a 300-room hotel, 200,000 square feet of retail space, 46,000 square feet of versatile meeting and convention space, and a variety of dining and entertainment options. Conveniently located one hour from Philadelphia and an hour-and-a-half from New York City, Sands Bethlehem’s 126-acre development is a model for ‘Smart Growth’ redevelopment of a major brownfield site and will incorporate many of the remaining historical elements of the former occupant, the Bethlehem Steel plant.
