The Royal Yacht Hotel is a new, modern, luxury hotel, situated in St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands. The 110-bedroom hotel opened in July 2007. Following the successful implementation of protel PMS at the outset, the hotel’s management team were keen to take advantage of Xn’s integrated distribution and channel management solution, Xn globalRES. Offering comprehensive 2-way integration with protel, the system provides next generation seamless connectivity to all 4 GDS’, as well as a private label web booking engine and 2-way direct connects to major third party web sites such as Expedia.com and Booking.com. “We developed a strong working relationship with Xn during the initial implementation of the protel PMS and dotPOS Point of Sale Systems when the hotel opened”, stated Sandra Diggelmann, Reservations Manager. “Given the significant productivity gains, reduced transaction cost and last room, real-time availability offered by Xn globalRES, it made total sense to implement this solution as we seek to further develop our distribution strategy.” The hotel is now live on GDS under the XN chain code and plans to implement the IDS direct connects as the next phase of the project.
