Minneapolis, Minn. | SoftBrands, Inc. (AMEX: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, today announced that Lands of Loyal Hotel in Alyth, Perthshire, Scotland has selected SoftBrands Medallion property management system (PMS) to manage operations at this four-star luxury country house hotel. This agreement represents the 200th SoftBrands PMS license sold in Europe and Africa to date in the company’s fiscal year. SoftBrands’ sales footprint continues to grow through both direct and channel partner efforts. This year has provided new business for the multi-property Epitome PMS in Africa and new Medallion PMS business that supports the independent and boutique hotels in Greece. One of the reasons for SoftBrands strength in numbers is the company’s focus on providing customer-centric solutions backed by a solid support and services team. A number of license agreements sold this year were to existing customers who have chosen to upgrade their existing PMS with the latest technology from SoftBrands and continue their relationship with the company. Likewise a handful of customers who chose competitor solutions also returned to SoftBrands after a short period of time. This emphasises the “Technology Made Friendly” promise that SoftBrands is proud to promote throughout its operations. “We are pleased that so many hotels have made the choice to either begin using SoftBrands systems, continue using our solutions or return to us as customers again,” said Michael Knight, vice president and general manager for SoftBrands hospitality operations in Europe and Africa. “The recent agreement with Lands of Loyal Hotel is a good example our ability to leverage the positive results of our application, services and support by continuing to sell within affiliated hotel groups. The Lands of Loyal Hotel is part of a larger group including the Castleton House and Raemoir Hotel – already using Medallion PMS.” The list of companies that have signed on with SoftBrands this fiscal year includes a number of large groups and key accounts such as De Vere Venues, Sporting Lodge Inns, Bespoke Hotels and Lester Hotels. In addition to the new licenses sold, the key consortia that have selected SoftBrands as a technology partner include Best Western Great Britain and Classic Hotels, both of which have properties that have begun using SoftBrands solutions this year. The signed agreement with De Vere Venues represents the first significant group business in the U.K. for the Epitome PMS and Core Central Reservations System (CRS). “The De Vere agreement demonstrates SoftBrands’ ability to service large groups,” said Nigel Allport, director of SoftBrands hospitality sales in Europe and Africa. “SoftBrands is gaining momentum across Europe and Africa as a trusted technology partner with solutions that are well suited for a variety of hospitality environments.” This contract is expected to generate approximately $2 million in license and service revenues over the next year.
