TORONTO, ON. | PAR Springer Miller Systems Inc. (PSMS) — the leading provider of guest-centric hospitality management systems— is pleased to announce that VISA® USA has validated SpaSoft® Version 3.1 as compliant with it’s latest CISP (Card Information Security Program) Payment Application Best Practices Version 1.4.
VISA, in collaboration with MasterCard, has incorporated the CISP standards into an industry-wide approach, known as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. The new standard applies to credit card merchants, service providers and payment applications. In 2007, SpaSoft Version 3.0 was officially validated. A new version of PABP rules was recently introduced. To meet VISA's new compliance guidelines, PAR Springer-Miller employed an independent, VISA-qualified Security Assessor to perform a thorough inspection of SpaSoft’s payment processing environment. The audit included an intensive review of the process by which sensitive information is classified, accessed, and stored, an analysis of network and system architecture, a complete assessment of IT policies and procedures, documentation, employee interviews and more. “Achieving VISA CISP/PABP validation against the latest set of rules demonstrates our commitment to protecting the confidentiality and integrity of cardholder and personal data on behalf of our entire customer base,” remarked Brigitte Guy, General Manager of SpaSoft. “We take the entire new Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard very seriously and have added new security features such as advanced cryptography technology. We will continue to implement security recommendations to assist our customers in protecting sensitive data.”
