Hard Rock International Deploys Centralized Point-of-Sale with MICROS Simphony(TM)
26 June 2007

COLUMBIA, Md. | MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Hard Rock International has selected MICROS Simphony(TM), for centralized, enterprise-wide point-of-sale (POS) for its 60+ company-owned locations in North America and Europe. Simphony(TM), which will be self-hosted by Hard Rock, has been deployed to six locations to date, with the remaining locations going live by March 2008.

Hard Rock International has embraced the MICROS 8700 since 1996. New data security requirements and the age of the current solution required Hard Rock International to seek its next generation POS solution. Hard Rock strategically chose MICROS Simphony(TM) because of its centralized, service-oriented architecture (SOA), which reduces administrative and maintenance costs and allows for more effective management of the POS.

"With the implementation of Simphony(TM), we are able to deploy a true enterprise solution," stated Kelly Maddern, Senior Director of IT, Hard Rock International. "Simphony(TM) provides Hard Rock with centralized database management and a minimized cafe infrastructure, allowing us to improve service and responsiveness to our cafes, without significantly increasing our current IT/POS staffing levels."

Centralized database management ensures consistency and integrity for the Hard Rock brand while enabling IT to be more responsive to the needs of Operations. Hard Rock will also eliminate 60+ high-end computer servers, minimizing its overall support costs. Simphony(TM) service-oriented architecture allows Hard Rock to deploy a tailored POS configuration to each location.

"Strategically, technology should be leveraged to improve guest service, gain organizational efficiencies and reduce overall operating costs" continued Maddern. "For Hard Rock, the deployment of Simphony(TM) will allow us to realize this and more."

"MICROS is pleased to deploy the first-ever enterprise POS solution with a service-oriented architecture (SOA) to Hard Rock International," stated Jenny Kurdle, Executive Vice President, MICROS Leisure and Entertainment Business Unit. "Simphony(TM) provides an enterprise solution to the industry with new levels of flexibility and scalability. We value the continued partnership we have with Hard Rock International."
