NEW YORK | Agilysys, Inc. (NASDAQ:AGYS) , a leading provider of innovative IT solutions announced today that Arthur Rhein, Agilysys chairman, president and chief executive officer received the VARBusiness 500 Executive of the Year Award for overseeing the company's transformation into one of North America's leading IT solution providers. The seventh annual award ceremony, honoring the IT-channel industry's biggest and best solution providers, was held yesterday at The Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York. "I am honored to have been selected as the VARBusiness Executive of the Year and I accept this award on behalf of all Agilysys employees, and in particular our senior management team," said Rhein. "Our success in transforming the business would not have been possible without their hard work and dedication." Mr. Rhein joined Agilysys in 1981, serving as vice president of the Northeast Region until 1986, when he was named senior vice president of marketing. His responsibilities were expanded to include sales and he was named to the Board of Directors in 1990. Mr. Rhein was named president and chief executive officer in April 2002 after serving as president and chief operating officer since 1997. He was elected chairman April 30, 2003.
