Hôtel Concorde Berlin Designed Its Security with VingCard and Valli&Valli
3 September 2006

PARIS, FRANCE | The recently-opened, five-star Hôtel Concorde Berlin has put a significant emphasis on its overall design—pursuing an evident stylistic cohesion between exterior and interior down to the smallest detail. From clear forms, warm colours and elegant fittings to providing a designer door handle by famous Italian handle crafter Valli&Valli in conjunction with new electronic locks by VingCard, project architect and interior designer Jan Kleihues expresses quality through the entire property.

“Every design element plays a key role in reinforcing the overall style and unique experience this hotel offers to its guests,” Kleihues said. “Therefore, it was critical that the electronic lock and handle perfectly blended into this style. We selected the best-in-breed companies as our partners on this project to deliver sophisticated security with style.”

The Hôtel Concorde Berlin features 11 floors encompassing 267 large rooms, 44 suites, 8 conference rooms, the brasserie “Le Faubourg”, the breakfast restaurant “St. Germain”, the bar “Lutèce”, a club lounge and a wellness area.

First impression counts
Luca Zardoni, export sales director of Valli&Valli, said he was challenged to provide a door handle that fit into the special design of the hotel while providing a unique first impression to guests when entering their rooms.

“After a careful analysis of all the possible options, the handle Series Einser H5022 for Fusital evolved as a part of the furnishing with timeless design and sober elegance destined to give a modern mark to hotel spaces,” Zardonis said. “This particular handle will remain fashionable for at least the next 20 years. We are very proud to have contributed to this project and the overall hotel’s interior design.”

Design Your Security
“VingCard is focused on developing electronic-locking systems with and ease of use in mind,” said Heiner Kesting, managing director of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality GmbH. “Our solutions are design conscious and appeal to the most sophisticated styles in the hotels worldwide, blending into any hotel décor.

Kesting said that VingCard has improved the look and feel of its locks in order to make it easier for guests to use key-cards when entering their rooms and to enable designers to blend security hardware into any hotel environment. With its aesthetical design and minimal outside door hardware, VingCard is quickly becoming the electronic-locking solution of choice for architects and interior designers around the globe. VingCard is offering the same security and reliability to the hospitality industry since 1979.

“The partnership between VingCard and Valli&Valli offers a unique advantage because hotels can now choose the most secure electronic-locking system while personalising the design and style to offer a unique experience to their guests”, Kesting said.

“At VingCard Elsafe, we listen to our customers’ needs and we are committed to providing the ultimate within global security solutions,” he added. “VingCard Elsafe offers a worldwide network that focuses on service and listening to its customers. Our global presence and understanding your needs enable us to offer you the right combination of electronic security solutions.”
