COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc. Almost 1,400 IHG Hotels have been installed worldwide including 53 in Latin America, 158 in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and 58 in Asia Pacific.

Beginning in January 2004, MICROS began installing OPERA and OPERA Xpress PMS programs in conjunction with "HIRO" IHG's revenue management system. Both OPERA products offer tight integration with HIRO and the IHG central reservations system, HOLIDEX Plus.

"Over the past year, the Americas region of IHG has been upgrading its hotels' PMS programs as part of an integrated technology system solution designed to provide its owners and operators with access to state-of-the-art technology," said Angela Brav, SVP, Americas Franchise and Operations Support, IHG.
