SynXis Strengthens Global Presence With The Addition Of More Than 900 Hotels In Europe And Asia
16 September 2003

MCLEAN, VA- SynXis, a leading provider of reservation management and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, announced today they have expanded their European operations by providing direct reservation services to Hot Key International's strategic accounts, approximately 900 properties in 35 countries. These customers will benefit from the industry-leading reservation distribution services they previously received through Hot Key.

Based in England, Hot Key International was founded in 1991, but has recently announced their dissolution as a representation company.

"The recent disappointing trading conditions in international travel made it increasingly difficult for us to continue providing the service our properties were accustomed to. We realized that the perfect solution would be to transfer the management of our accounts to SynXis," said Martin Miller, former president and founder of Hot Key International. "Over the past year, we have been extremely pleased with the service that we have received from SynXis. While it is always difficult for a company to be in this position, knowing that your customers will be professionally taken care of certainly helps."

Brendon Weir, one of Hot Key's founders, has joined the SynXis team as Director of Sales in their European office in Amsterdam. Mr. Weir has been instrumental in overseeing the transition of the strategic accounts including Minotel Deutschland and Akzent Hotels (both in Germany), PBI Hotels (Poland), MHR Collections (Europe and the Middle East), and Beautiful Italy.

"Using the SynXis technology, we were able to increase the productivity of our properties within weeks of making the switch," Weir said. "SynXis's ability to deliver on their product and service commitments is unique in this industry and I am looking forward to being a part of their dynamic team."

"This has been a tremendous opportunity for SynXis," commented Kostas Trivizas, European Managing Director of SynXis. "When we were presented with Hot Key's no longer being able to support their customers, our team reacted swiftly to solve the problem. Now, instead of this being a major headache for everyone involved, the customers will transfer to us seamlessly, ensuring they don't miss a single reservation."
