ROCKVILLE, MD (USA) - The 2003 Visual One Users Conference took place from September 2 to 5 at the 1,350-room Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida. The conference consisted of guest speakers, classroom sessions, one-on-one "wizard" sessions, open forums, and a laboratory environment.
In addition to speeches given by Visual One executives, guest speakers included Harris Rosen, the owner of the Rosen Centre, and Abe Pizam, the Dean of the Rosen School for Hospitality. Vendor presentations were provided by Southern Data Comm, IDeaS, and others. Classroom sessions covered all of the V1 products including property management, sales & catering, restaurant point-of-sale, back-office and condominium accounting, spa management, golf course management, and more. One-on-one wizard sessions provided each attendee with the opportunity to obtain solutions to their site's specific operational requirements. The laboratory environment offered the ability for attendees to test the knowledge that they gained during the various seminars. The conference began with a Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening, followed by the Opening Session and seminars on Wednesday. Leisure time was spent at Universal Studio's City Walk on Wednesday evening. After Thursday's sessions, a banquet was held Thursday evening at the Rosen Centre hotel. The banquet included a 5-piece band, an artist creating free caricatures of the attendees, and an animal trainer with a live alligator and boa constrictor. On Friday, additional sessions took place. The conference was described as a "love fest" by one attendee, "impressive attention to detail" by another, and "instructors were well-prepared and gave excellent presentations" by another attendee.Visual One Systems has provided software to the hospitality industry since 1977.
