Mr. Parker, who brings 21 years of experience in technology, hospitality, and sales, will be responsible for the overall management and growth of the Major Account Hotels Business Unit.
Mr. Parker spent 9 years with IBM South Africa in sales management prior to his 11-year employment with Kerzner International, previously Sun International, a leading international developer and operator of premier casinos, resorts and luxury hotels. While under the employ of Sun International, Mr. Parker spent 4 years at Sun City South Africa and 7 years with the Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas, most recently as Vice President of Technology. "We are pleased to have Des join MICROS with such an extensive background in the hospitality industry. Des's complete knowledge of technology and the complex and diverse operational requirements of a hotel, resort and casino, make him an invaluable addition to the MICROS executive staff," commented Tom Giannopoulos, Chairman and CEO of MICROS Systems, Inc.
