Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center Installs Timelox's Infrared Online Locking System
Timelox Partnering With Three Gaylord Hotels to Ensure Secure Environment for Guests
11 August 2003

DALLAS, Texas/NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Inc. announced today that Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville has completed installation of the Timelox DC-One IR5 OnLine locking system to secure 2,881 guestroom doors at the world-class hotel. In addition, the destination resort is installing the locking system on most of its convention meeting rooms and service entrances, as well as on some back-of-house doors.

The unique, feature-rich locking system operates on a dual platform that reads both magstripe and smart cards for maximum system flexibility. The system also utilizes advanced infrared communication technology, developed in partnership with INNCOM International Inc., to create a cost-efficient online solution.

"Offering our guests secure rooms and environments in which to hold meetings is essential for our customers and to our business," said Gaylord Opryland President Jay D. Sevigny, who noted all Gaylord Hotels - including Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla., and Gaylord Opryland Texas in Grapevine, Texas - have similar systems either in place or in the installation phase. "Installing these infrared locking systems was a significant undertaking, and Timelox worked well with our leaders and workforce to implement these state-of-the-art devices."

The DC-One IR5 OnLine system offers a host of convenient features, including the ability to relocate guests or extend stay times without the need to re-encode their keycards. It also detects door ajar conditions and immediately cancels lost staff cards without visiting the locks. Other features include sequential and roaming intruder alarm, low battery/maintenance needed notification, instant staff locator and an all-inclusive event list with real-time data transfer.

"Gaylord's management team did extensive research on the innovative features and functionality offered by online infrared locking systems," said Matthew Mrowczynski, vice president of marketing and branding for ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Inc. "They demanded the most advanced technology possible, as well as the highest level of convenience and the ability to interface with their current PMS and POS systems. Our DC-One IR5 OnLine system meets all these requirements with a very flexible, cost-efficient solution. The strength and reputation of the Timelox brand, together with the

stability and resources of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, were also critical factors in Gaylord Hotels' decision to partner with us."
