COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc.
[NASDAQ: MCRS]
, a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, has completed the installation of its 9700 Hospitality Management System, including the web-based NetVuPoint reporting suite, at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Jointly owned by Mandalay Resort Group and MGM/Mirage and operated by the Mandalay Resort Group, this luxury property has been using MICROS technology for nearly 7 years and chose to upgrade its original MICROS system to the Company's next-generation point-of- sale solution.
The Windows® 2000-based MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System, specifically designed for the Casino Industry, offers POS anywhere, with reporting and configuration everywhere. The 9700's Remote Management Console, which includes an easy to use Configurator, an HTML-based Report Writer, and the Autosequencer, offers a simplified and remotely accessible tool to manage the business from any location. Ed Chapel, Vice President Western Distribution for MICROS, explained, "The Monte Carlo wisely chose to leverage its existing MICROS 8700 investment, originally installed in June 1996. By upgrading to our 9700 system, the Monte Carlo preserved its original hardware investment and eliminated front-end retraining since the new system looks and functions exactly the same for front-end users." "Upgrading to the 9700 system was a great decision," concurred Dave Walker, Controller for the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino. "The switch-over was seamless to the users. No retraining or major database programming was needed, and now we're on a MS-SQL database with superior reporting via MICROS's NetVuPoint web-based interface. Access to reports is straight forward and we don't need to rely on any technical expertise in order to create simple reports." Utilizing Microsoft SQL 2000 and XML, the new 9700 NetVuPoint advanced web reporting suite allows the entire enterprise to view actionable reports and graphs in real-time. The new web interface allows the user to query all transaction level detail, producing not only check images, but also journal entries that allow managers to identify sales trends and service issues, and conduct full system audits. NetVuPoint also exports to HTML, Microsoft Excel, PDF or Text, allowing the data to be easily shared.
