Palm Springs Resort Now Leads Competition in Hotel Occupancy Rates

COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc. The luxurious 230-room Palm Springs resort created and executed a strong marketing and image-building campaign and is now averaging a 76 percent occupancy rate, up 14 percent over the previous year according to recently produced STAR reports.

The MICROS OPERA Enterprise Solution (OES) is a fully integrated suite of products consisting of modules that can be easily added or expanded, allowing effective and easy deployment from smaller operations to global, multi-branded hotel chain environments. Seeking maximum efficiency and return on technology investment, Spa Resort Casino chose to install MICROS' OPUS 2 Revenue Management System, Property Management System, Sales & Catering, Group Functionality, Web Booking Engine, and the OPERA Palm handheld system modules.

Robert Galvin, CIO of Spa Resort Casino, stated, "We spent a great deal of time reviewing available systems and OPERA came out on top each time. OPERA provided the compatibility we needed to interface our property management system to POS, spa, movies, credit cards, key, and other functions.
