Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan Upgrades to VingCard Locking System to Enhance Guest Security and Convenience

DALLAS, TX - VingCard, the world's most widely used brand of hotel electronic locking products, has announced that a VingCard locking system will be installed in the 46-story Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan Hotel in New York City. All 770 guest rooms and suites at the high-profile Manhattan property will soon be equipped with VingCard Classic Series locks, which will be controlled by VingCard VISION software via the Opera Property Management System (PMS). VingCard locks will also be installed on back-of-house and staff access doors at the property. Installation of the locking system is scheduled to take place in June of this year.
According to Phil Kindler, VingCard's Northeast Regional Sales Manager, the Crowne Plaza's Director of Security chose VingCard primarily for the product's software capabilities and proven reliability. "With their current system, the property has been experiencing from eight to ten keycard failures per night," said Kindler. "They were looking for a new system that offered reliable mechanical operation and software that would interface with their existing Opera PMS. VingCard's Windows®-based VISION software and Classic Series magnetic stripe door locks are the ideal combination of products to meet these needs."
Utilizing a Windows® software platform, VingCard VISION software is easy to interface with most PMS and POS (Point of Sale) systems with standards such as DOS, UNIX, and Windows 98/2000/NT/XP among others.
