11 February 2003

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - Nomadix Inc. (www.nomadix.com), a leading supplier of public-access solutions, today announced that it has partnered with iPass, a provider of enterprise connectivity services, to enable interoperability between Nomadix's family of public-access Gateways and the iPass global virtual network.

iPass' virtual network is enabled by its software, its scalable network architecture and its relationships with more than 200 network service providers around the globe. iPass requires all of its more than 200 network provider partners to interoperate with the leading virtual private network systems, personal firewalls and policy management and enforcement tools.

Today's announcement means that network operators using any Nomadix Gateway can now be integrated into the iPass virtual network for enterprise connectivity services.

"Nomadix's technical partnership with iPass is another major step in our commitment to providing the most advanced public access solutions, with the aim of ensuring a secure and reliable experience for enterprise users, while supporting a wide variety of billing models for providers," said John DiGiovanni, director of marketing at Nomadix.

"Public hotspots around the world using our iPass-certified gateways can now be integrated into the iPass virtual network."

Nomadix solutions deliver transparent connectivity for users of the public-access network, with no need to change any configuration settings or load any special client-side software. Nomadix's products are designed to offer superior technology, while simultaneously supporting a wide variety of billing and authentication models.

The Nomadix Universal Subscriber Gateway(TM) II (USG II) can support up to 2,000 simultaneous users, providing a suite of functionality enabling large scale roll outs of public access networks in a variety of venue types and sizes including large hotels, airports and convention centers.

Nomadix also offers a family of solutions for smaller venues through its HotSpot Gateway(TM) and Hospitality Service Gateway(TM) products.

"As the largest international airport in Japan, we provide the e-Airport service, which is a part of Japanese government's e-Japan initiative, and offer wireless LAN broadband Internet connectivity to people traveling in-and-out of our facilities," said Hideharu Miyamoto, manager of Communication Department of New Tokyo International Airport Authority.

"The Nomadix Universal Subscriber Gateway II together with iPass provide seamless and turnkey wireless Internet access solutions for travelers visiting our airport as they make productive use of their time while waiting for flights.

"The iPass service accessing Wi-Fi at Narita through Nomadix gateways allow users to connect to the Internet without making changes to the configuration of their laptop computer, making it simple and convenient to use."

"Nomadix is an important player in the Wi-Fi arena," said Mary Tate, director of technology alliances at iPass. "We are pleased to be working with them as they expand their service."
