Dave Burroughs, President of Visual One Systems, was equally enthusiastic; "The combination of Mike with our superior products will have a major impact on our worldwide business. I am in this business because I enjoy it, and working with Mike has always been great." The company have now announced another significant appointment in Paul Staveley who has been appointed as Director of Sales (Europe). Paul was formerly with SoftBrands and worked with Mike at IGS. Mike Gadbury said, "I have worked with Paul for l3 years and am delighted that he has joined me to attack the UK and European markets. From our new offices in Surrey I now have an exceptional platform to develop this business". Paul Staveley commented, "It was time for me to move on and I am excited by the integrated Visual One product which I believe will have a major impact on the marketplace. There are not many products, which cover both the front and back office as well as sales and catering, golf and point of sale and work from the one database. Some of the most well known properties in the U.S. and Caribbean have already installed Visual One and its future in Europe looks very bright". About Visual One - Since 1977, Visual One Systems has provided software systems to the hospitality industry. Their Windows-based products, using a Microsoft SQL database, include property management, sales & catering, restaurant point-of-sale, back-office accounting, and golf course management. The company has 1500 sites world-wide and has many well known customers including Sandals, Club Resorts, Pinehurst, The Royal Westmoreland, and the Marriott IOI Palace Malaysia.The company have made a very significant appointment in naming Mike Gadbury as Managing Director of the new venture. Mike has been in the hotel systems industry for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Visual One following his career with IGS and SoftBrands). Mike and Dave Burroughs (President of Visual One) have achieved major success together in the past when Mike became a distributor for the Innstar property management system in the mid eighties. The result then was that Mike's company (IGS) became the market leading supplier in the UK of Property Management Systems and the objective is to repeat the successful formula again. Mike Gadbury said, "I am delighted to join up again with Dave Burroughs. His track record in the industry for product and service is second to none. His 25th anniversary this year proves that. I grew my business before with a philosophy built around customer care and this is still my approach. I believe the industry has suffered recently from poor product and service and I think many hoteliers are looking for a quality supplier. I am particularly excited by the breadth of the Visual One product, which covers Property Management, Sales and Catering, Point-of-Sale, Accounting and Golf. It is a very strong product not only for the resort market but also for hotels and conference centres."
Mike Gadbury established International Guest Systems (IGS) who became the market leading suppliers in the UK market. Mike eventually sold the business to the LK Group (later to become AremisSoft) More recently Mike has been Senior Vice President, Strategic Development, with SoftBrands Hospitality before his appointment to head Visual One's European operation.
