MICROS Completes Global Deployment of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Central Reservation and Customer Information Systems; Begins Global Deployment of OPERA Property Management System
13 May 2002

COLUMBIA, Md. -- MICROS Systems, Inc. [NASDAQ: MCRS] , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, announced today that Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the world's leading operator of luxury hotels, has completed the global deployment of MICROS's Central Reservation System and Customer Information System, and has begun global deployment of MICROS's OPERA Property Management System (PMS).

The Central Reservation System and Customer Information System were deployed in December 2001 and provide Four Seasons with central reservation system capabilities, access to the Global Distribution System, an integrated customer information database, and a powerful bi-directional interface between central and property operations. This new enterprise solution offers Four Seasons a guest centric sales process and the ability to completely synchronize reservations (both individual and group) between property and central operations. Additional tools allow Four Seasons to synchronize guest, company, travel agent and group profile information across the enterprise to enable new customer relationship management initiatives. The property interface is based on the latest XML technologies and communicates with both Four Seasons existing Fidelio version 6.00 sites and its latest Opera Property Management System installations.

The OPERA Property Management System has been selected as the property technology solution for all new Four Seasons properties. Four Seasons began installing OPERA PMS in February 2001 at its new hotel located in Prague, Czech Republic. Global deployment of OPERA PMS has continued with the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai in February 2002 and Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh, in April 2002.

Bill Poe, Executive Vice President, Hotel Sales and Strategies of MICROS Systems said, "We consider it a great privilege to be chosen by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts as a strategic technology partner and to be a part of their global expansion. We are pleased that our Central Reservation System, Customer Information System and OPERA Enterprise Solution meet the demanding requirements of this premier hotel company."
