Harrah's Entertainment Signs Agreement to Implement the Windows NT-Based MICROS 9700 HMS Solution for Casino Installations Across the U.S.

, a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, has signed a Purchase Agreement with Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.
[NYSE: HET]
, the nation's casino-entertainment industry leader. Under this agreement, MICROS will be installing its 9700 Hospitality Management System (HMS) at several Harrah's casino properties. Two Harrah's properties, Harrah's Showboat Casino Hotel and Harrah's Casino in East Chicago, have already installed the 9700 system to manage their point-of-sale (POS) operations, and Harrah's Rincon, Tunica, Joliet, and Shreveport are in the planning phase for installation within the next year.
The MICROS 9700 HMS is a cost-effective, highly usable, point-of-sale system with open systems architecture. It is specifically designed to handle a high usage, multiple revenue center environment. The system also offers great flexibility in the development of custom POS applications. For Harrah's Entertainment, MICROS has already developed a Custom Cage application, Parking Garage application, and a Comp System interface to allow Harrah's TOTAL REWARDS patrons to redeem comps at any MICROS POS location.
