LONG BEACH, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Epson, the leading supplier of Point-of-Sale (POS) printing solutions, today announced the signing of an OEM agreement with MICROS Systems, Inc.

, the leading provider of POS and information technology solutions to the hospitality industry. As an authorized Epson Acclaim OEM partner, MICROS will purchase product directly from Epson and is entitled to Epson's highest level of technical support, marketing support, education and services. The Acclaim Program was designed to specifically support Epson's OEM partners. MICROS will resell Epson TM-U200 and TM-T88II printers as an integral component of its Eclipse PC Workstation product line of systems. Epson will customize its printers to include the proprietary MICROS Integrated Device Network (IDN) interface, which enables high-speed network communication between MICROS terminals. In addition, the IDN interface allows multiple MICROS systems to share a single networked printer, enabling printing instructions to be re-routed from an off-line printer to another working printer on the network for uninterrupted printing of kitchen and bar orders. "Our goal was to partner with a POS printer supplier that could provide us with the most value-added service and the highest quality product. Only Epson could provide the depth of specialized support, range of products and volume we need to meet our worldwide customer demand," said Kyle Kurdle, Director of Hardware Solutions at MICROS.
