SynXis Selected to Power Irish Hotel Federation Member Reservations - All Irish Hotels, Country Houses, Inns, and Guesthouses Connect to the IHF Web Site
8 October 2001

MCLEAN, VA, Oct. 9 - SynXis Corporation, a leading provider of reservation and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, announced today that the Irish Hotels Federation (IHF), the national body for Irish hotels and guesthouses, has selected SynXis AgentĀ® to power its reservations distribution system. The IHF hosts a Web site for all hotels, country houses, inns, castles, and guesthouses to help these historic destinations attract visitors. In addition to using the SynXis booking engine for their own site , the IHF has endorsed the use of the entire suite of SynXis products (including seamless GDS connectivity and direct reservations system) for all members, providing them a cost-effective way to increase their distribution to thousands of new customers globally.

SynXis Agent, a suite of Java(tm)-based Internet applications that includes the Book-A-RezĀ® booking engine, empowers each hotel to offer availability on IHF's site and to independently update rates, property descriptions and room availability to all booking channels. This functionality provides the hotel with greater flexibility and full control in addition to increased exposure through the Internet. Visitors to the IHF Web site are able to book a reservation and receive a confirmation number during the session.

"Members of the IHF are enthusiastic about the addition of SynXis Agent to our Web site. People traveling to Ireland can view lodging options online and make reservations directly on the site, eliminating the need to contact each hotel separately," said John Power, Chief Executive of the IHF. "Individual hotels now have the ability to manage inventory independently and beyond the IHF site by using SynXis'connectivity to global booking channels, such as the GDS and the Internet, while giving guests the most up-to-date information."

"SynXis was able to tailor its products to the specific needs of the IHF properties, which include over one thousand establishments," said Elmer Coppoolse, Vice President at SynXis. "Visitors to the site will enjoy its new multi-property search feature which will display only those properties that meet the guests' selected criteria, including their desired region and property services."
