The first locations to use the new technology are The Villanova Conference Center in Radnor, PA, the Terraces Hotel & Convention Center in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, and Mt. SynXis was selected as the exclusive provider of reservation technology and electronic distribution for the conference centers, providing ARAMARK with seamless connectivity to over 500,000 travel agents using the four major Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) to book lodging reservations worldwide. SynXis Agent, a JAVA-based Internet solution, also enables the properties to be booked through major Internet travel portals such as Travelocity, Expedia, Yahoo and Group Block Management, the latest addition to SynXis Agent, provides ARAMARK's corporate customers with the ability to manage and maintain conference center reservations through the Internet. The system allows planners to access group blocks and rooming lists online -- saving time, labor and overall costs. Rooming lists can be entered directly from the Internet and individuals that are part of a group can now reserve their rooms from either the conference center's Web site or the group's Web site.
