Under the agreement, hotels using SynXis' reservation system will be added to the Pegasus Online Distribution Database of more than 40,000 hotels. As a result, hotels using SynXis technology will be accessible for real-time bookings on Web sites in Pegasus' Online Distribution Network, including "The Pegasus Online Distribution Network is a strong complement to our existing distribution," said Sally Payze, Vice President of Operations for SynXis. "Through Pegasus, SynXis hotels will have access to some of the Web's most popular travel portals around the world as well as several key destination city convention/visitor bureau (CVB) Web sites. Hotels will contract directly with SynXis for connectivity to Pegasus' distribution channel, streamlining the process to only one contact for distribution services. Hotels will also be able to manage the rooms and rates available to the Pegasus Online Distribution Network as part of a separate channel, theSynXis' Internet Distribution System (IDS), using SynXis Agent(tm). Hotels can customize the marketing strategy for the Internet independently of other channels such as their own Web site or the GDSs. Online guests will be able to book hotel rooms in real time and receive an immediate confirmation. For SynXis hotel customers, tThere is a consolidated flat fee for reservations received through the Pegasus Online Distribution Network and hotels will receive a single invoice.
