SynXis Reaches 100,000 Hotel Rooms Online Milestone - 30,000 New Rooms Going Live This Month Alone
27 March 2001

McLean, VA, March 27, 2001 - SynXis Corporation, a provider of reservation management and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, announced today that the company has commitments that will bring its total number of hotel rooms online to over 100,000 within the next eight weeks. This milestone is another in a list of recent accomplishments for SynXis that includes advances in technology, enhanced industry relationships and expanded international operations.

"We are bringing dozens of properties online every month with 30,000 new rooms going live this month alone," commented Sally Payze, Vice President of Operations at SynXis. "The scalability of our system allows us to add high volumes of transactions without impacting performance."

The SynXis reservation system, under development for more than three years, and launched in 2000, enables individual hotels and multi-property chains to consolidate and directly manage inventory anytime, from any location with Internet access in real-time. The system provides a single interface or consolidated view of room inventory from all booking sources, so properties always know the status of their entire inventory.

In preparation for its projected growth, SynXis has undertaken several development efforts targeting overall system performance. SynXis has optimized various search algorithms in the system, resulting in a 300% improvement in new hotel search response times. In response to customer feedback on streamlining its user interface, SynXis has also modified its software to enable users to directly access administration or management screens, bypassing application screens.

Recently released in seven languages including US English, UK English, Dutch, German, Spanish, French, and Italian, the SynXis reservation management system is now being marketed throughout Europe. Just this month SynXis launched its Internet-based central reservation system in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Through partnerships with industry leaders such as VIP International, high-profile properties such as the John Q. Hammons Hotels, Riviera Hotel and Casino, SunStream Hotels & Resorts, Estanplaza Boutique Hotels (Brazil), the Stratosphere Tower Hotel and Casino, and Red Carnation hotels are implementing the SynXis reservation system.

Recent additions to the SynXis client list include: CHIP Hospitality, Nassau Marriott Crystal Palace Resort and Casino, and Zephyr Mountain Lodge.
