, a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, is showcasing its breakthrough Front Desk Management (FDM) system, FidelioXpress, at the 2000 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show(R) being held in New York November 11 - 14.
Created for small and mid-size hotels, the FidelioXpress FDM system integrates many critical functions to provide the highest level of speed and service available today. Using the system's advanced touchscreen technology, front desk personnel can make reservations, check guests in and out, process credit cards, issue keys, and perform other property management tasks with ease. FidelioXpress facilitates an instant, one-step check-in process. Front desk personnel just swipe their guest's credit card and the system automatically brings up the guest's reservation and applies payment information to their credit card. Credit authorization can be obtained in real time and the system's integrated Ving(R) Card Vision Pocket door locking system automatically cuts the guest's room key at the same time, eliminating double entry of information. Checking out is equally efficient, with a one- step process that brings up all guest charges and automatically invalidates room keys. Group and tour processing are also streamlined with special features of FidelioXpress. By noting the impending arrival of a group, the system can prepare room keys for each guest and check-in all tour guests at once, no matter what the size of the group. The system's sophisticated room management capability allows hotel management to pick up rooms via a rooming list or individual pick-ups. FidelioXpress can also be set to automatically cut off groups if all held rooms are not picked up by a pre-determined date. FidelioXpress operates on an open Windows(R)-based system that easily interfaces with other applications and can evolve right along with emerging technologies. The system can be fully integrated with the MICROS 3700 Point- of-Sale System, to automatically post restaurant charges to a guest's account. FidelioXpress is also Internet enabled, to provide an end-to-end e-commerce distribution channel. With its interface to hotelBANK's on-line booking and travel management capabilities, FidelioXpress provides the capability to confirm reservations directly from a hotel's Web site.
