Wyndham International Inks Deal With MICROS Systems for New Revenue Management, Customer Information and Property Management Systems
Enterprise-Wide Solution to Improve Profitability And Enhance Guest Experience
5 June 2000

COLUMBIA, Md. and DALLAS -- Wyndham International, Inc. [NYSE: WYN] has signed a contract with MICROS Systems, Inc. [NASDAQ: MCRS] to enhance its property management, reservations, customer relationship management and yield management systems in its Wyndham-branded hotels and resorts. The systems will be implemented over the next 18 months and fully integrated to provide an enterprise wide solution that will be accessible to Wyndham and its customers via the Internet.

The MICROS-Fidelio Central Reservations System (CRS) currently being utilized in Wyndham's Central Reservations Office will be upgraded with the installation of the integrated MICROS-Fidelio Customer Information System which collects and manages guest, travel agent, group and company profile information in a centralized database. This new design ensures availability of accurate and timely data for improving customer service and enhancing hotel revenue. Wyndham ByRequest, a recently introduced customer loyalty program, which enables hotels to personalize guests' stay based on their individual preferences, will synchronize customer information with CIS. The upgraded system will also include tools to support Wyndham's Sales Force Automation strategy including a Data Warehouse with ad hoc querying and reporting tools that are accessible via the web.

Additional enhancements to the CRS and Wyndham.com website will provide Wyndham with improved interactivity with properties, consumers and travel partners allowing Wyndham to achieve its goal of a single image inventory system to support the implementation of the TopLine Prophet Yield Management System.

"This exciting complement of applications was selected to help us realize our goal of centralized integrated yield management and comprehensive customer relationship management," said Fred J. Kleisner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wyndham International. "As an enterprise-wide solution, it will provide the centralized technology and database foundation to improve profitability while enhancing our guests' stay experiences."

TopLine PROPHET, a windows-based yield management system, will be put in place to maximize revenue and boost overall hotel profitability. The system fully integrates forecasting, analysis and inventory control into a single format.

"The TopLine PROPHET system will give Wyndham International a host of advanced yield management capabilities," said Eric Orkin, President of OPUS 2 Revenue Technologies, a subsidiary of MICROS. "With this technology in place, the company will be able to automatically maximize its revenue as the system tracks booking trends, analyzes rates vs. operating costs and generates updated rate hurdles on a continual basis."

Wyndham will also implement MICROS-Fidelio's integrated, Oracle-based suite of products called the OPERA Enterprise Solution, which includes Property Management (PMS), Sales and Catering (S&C), and Quality Management (QMS), Central Reservations (CRS) and Enterprise Information (EIS). The QMS will allow hotel staff to schedule resources, and enter, update and track tasks and preventative maintenance projects. In addition, Wyndham hotel personnel will be the first in the hospitality industry with the ability to perform wireless remote check-in and -out, as well as remote task management, remote sales and catering order review, and sales contact management with the OPERAPalm, a mobile, hand-held device with real-time database access.

"Wyndham International is our first customer to contract for the entire OPERA Enterprise System, so we look forward to providing them with our most powerful suite of applications ever," said Tom Giannopoulos, President and Chief Executive Officer of MICROS. "Through the implementation of all of these systems, Wyndham will realize significant management advantages and efficiencies across its entire hotel portfolio. MICROS-Fidelio is at the forefront of development for these and other products featuring internet- enabled technologies and global solutions for the hospitality industry."
