Twelve Prestigious Chinese Hotels Select MICROS's hotelBANK, Its Advanced On-line Hotel Reservation System

BELTSVILLE, Md. -- MICROS Systems, Inc. [NASDAQ: MCRS] , a leading provider of information technology solutions to the hospitality industry, has signed agreements with 12 prestigious hotels in China to provide MICROS's hotelBANK, a technologically advanced e-commerce solution for provides hotels with the ability to make on-line reservations via the Internet.

Currently, more than 2,700 hotels use the system worldwide.

As part of the contract with these hotels, MICROS will implement its hotelBANK booking engine service, Plug'nBook, that allows identified clients to make their own on-line reservations and provides instant confirmations to the appropriate hotel.

With Plug'nBook, each hotel can provide an Internet link on its website to its corporate clients with direct access to specially contracted rates. In addition to providing Internet connectivity, hotelBANK allows for a reduction in operating and administrative costs while capturing important travel statistics and customer preferences.

According to Ms. Wang Xiao Juan, General Manager of King Wing Hot Spring Hotel, Beijing, "the hotel needed to strengthen its visibility among international travel agents and, as important, to build brand awareness worldwide. hotelBANK's capability to help us capture bookings via the Internet is an important component of our worldwide marketing strategy."

Ms. Winnie Chui, MICROS's General Manager for hotelBANK Asia Pacific, said "MICROS's hotelBANK service will give these hotels 24-hour exposure to more than 500,000 travel agents who use the Global Distribution System to book reservations. Plug'nBook provides these hotels with the added bonus that allows identified clients to make their own on-line reservations with confirmation in seven seconds."

The twelve hotels that have signed with MICROS's hotelBANK include five hotels located in Beijing, such as the Taiwan Hotel, King Wing Hot Spring Hotel, Beijing Continental Grand Hotel, Wangfujing Grand Hotel, and Xiyuan Hotel.

The other seven hotels, located throughout China, include the Swiss-Bel Hotel, Changchun; The Lake View Hotel, Nanchang; Nanyuan Hotel, Ningbo; Regency Hotel, Shantou; Oriental Hotel Wuhan; Grand Sun City, Changsha; and, Huandao Tide Hotel, Haikou.
