, a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, has signed an agreement with Saigontourist Holding Company to provide MICROS's hotelBANK in its top 13 premium hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
hotelBANK is a technologically advanced e-commerce solution that provides hotels with the ability to make on-line reservations via the Internet. This contract with Saigontourist increases to over 300 the number of hotels in Asia/Pacific that use hotelBANK. Currently, more than 2,700 hotels use the system worldwide. As part of the contract with these hotels, MICROS will implement its hotelBANK booking engine service, Plug'nBook, that allows identified clients to make their own on-line reservations and provides instant confirmations to the appropriate hotel. With Plug'nBook, each hotel can provide an Internet link on its website to its corporate clients with direct access to specially contracted rates. In addition to providing Internet connectivity, hotelBANK allows for a reduction in operating and administrative costs while capturing important travel statistics and customer preferences.
