Newmarket Expands International Presence - Company moves EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) Division to new headquarters, adds sales & support personnel; Asia Pacific Division (Singapore) shines at HOFEX 99, announces recent installations
14 June 1999

Newmarket International, Inc. announced today that its EAME division, which serves Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, will move to new offices in the London suburb of Kingston on June 30. Steady growth in the demand for its hospitality sales automation software required Newmarket to expand to the new offices, located in the Bridge Suite of the Bishops Palace House.

Dan Hiza, managing director of Newmarket's EAME division, also announced the appointment of Chris Netherwood as regional sales director. Netherwood comes to Newmarket from the Crowne Plaza Hotel London-Heathrow, where, since 1997, he had served as conference development manager. Prior to that, Netherwood was assistant sales administration manager for the Renaissance Hotel La Defense in Paris.

The London office also welcomed two new customer support managers, Pratul Patel and Dan Gibbs.

"As Newmarket continues to raise the bar on technological innovations to its sales and marketing solutions, our commitment to offering the most comprehensive training and support in the industry must keep pace with the company's standards," said Hiza. "The additions to our support team complement Newmarket's preparations for launching Delphi Multi-Property Edition and Global SFA."

Newmarket will demonstrate Delphi MPE and Global SFA next week at HITEC, the hospitality industry's leading technology tradeshow, which begins at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta on June 22.

Newmarket's Asia Pacific Division, located in Singapore, recently exhibited at HOFEX 99, a leading hospitality and foodservice show held in May in Hong Kong. Felix Yeo, Newmarket's regional sales director, presented a Delphi demonstration to representatives of Regal Hotels International and Pan Pacific Hotels, among others.

"HOFEX showed that the demographics of automation are changing," said Paul Rantilla, managing director for Asia Pacific. "In addition to corporate owned or managed properties, many smaller, locally operated hotels in the region are seeking to automate their sales and catering departments."

The Asia-Pacific office also announced that Newmarket recently completed installation of Delphi for Windows at the Westin Sydney Hotel in Australia, the Pan Pacific Glen Marie in Kuala Lumpur, and the Sheraton Hong Kong.
